For my cinematography assignment, I will be studying the work of cinematographer Gordon Willis, the so-called "Prince of Darkness". Willis is famous for his work on The Godfather trilogy, alongside director Francis Ford Coppola.
The Godfather, and Willis' work, is famous for it's dark, underexposed imagery, and it is this I will recreate. Willis himself admits he gave the film a yellow/red look because "it felt right" but this has influenced period films ever since.
